Green Space Wales draws its membership from 16 of the 22 Welsh local authorities together with a range of professional green space organisations across Wales. In addition, a number of non-subscribing groups receive minutes of the meetings. The organisation is run on a voluntary basis by the membership and it also employs a part time coordinator who manages the group’s administration and undertakes the role of secretary. Green Space Wales is also affiliated to a number other organisations in the region
Two permanent subgroups exist; the bench-marking panel and the operational group. Both these groups meet independently to work on task specific topics.
Main group meetings are held quarterly at venues around the region whilst the sub groups meet more frequently as new issues immerge.
Green Space Wales stages a major seminar each autumn and for the last two years this has been run in partnership with Keep Wales Tidy. In 2013 the seminar included the Green Flag Wales award ceremony and the 2015 seminar will once again include this prestigious event.
Highly regarded within the region, Green Space Wales contributes to other groups including the Wales Green Flag stakeholder group, the Pollinator task force and the Come Outside partnership.
New members are always welcome and we are actively seeking representation from the wider green space community and voluntary groups.
